November 4th 2018

New blog: Here we are November 4th. We’ve turned our clocks back and Halloween is over, and Thanksgiving is right around the corner. My wife informs me today that our weekends are booked from here until the end of the year. So, it is official November 4th is the last free day of my 2018. Now, don’t get me wrong! I have a lot of great things planned in there, like a trip to Jasper to watch Todd McComas (a standup comedian) and hangout with my cousin and his wife. I’m sure we have other great things planned in there too, but to think I’m booked for the entire rest of my year is kind of mind boggling. What have we committed to that takes away all of my weekends this far away from the end of the year? Anyway, as we enter the greatest time in sports I’m so excited. We have NBA, NFL, NCAA football, NCAA basketball and NHL all started! This is the sports all-star period! Fall is my favorite season for multiple reasons but I think all major sports rolling at the same time is the biggest contributor to this! Not to mention I can wear a flannel shirt and jeans! Let’s start with NBA. Victor Oladipo and the Pacers are getting things started off great. They are third in the Eastern Conference at 7-3. They had a phenomenal win over Boston with Oladipo hitting a game winner to take the 102-101 victory. They also took a big win over Chicago with a two point win 107-105 on Thursday. I hope nothing but great things for this young and energetic crew. Next we will talk about the Indiana Hoosiers basketball team! I have high hopes for this squad and listening to them put a 30 point whooping on my alma mater only made me more excited for their season. I’m anxious to see what this young and talented team can continue to do to wow the crowd. IU football was on a bye week and we couldn’t ask for a better time for a break. Not to mention the Colts were also on a bye week and a well deserved break. I don’t start following hockey until closer to the playoffs but Nashville is 1st in the central division and beat the bruins 1-0 on Saturday to bring their record to 11-3. This is the greatest time of the year as far as sports are related, however my weekends are booked solid so I encourage you to follow your teams and try to keep your schedules clear. Cheers
